The Carter Plains Foundation is dedicated to providing programs and services in communities to help break the cycle of poverty. We believe all people have the right to realize their full potential and opportunities to be successful. The purpose of the Carter Plains Foundation is to provide all people opportunities to succeed through community programs and services.
Since leaving office, President and Mrs. Carter have been dedicated to “Waging Peace; Building Hope; Fighting Diseases” around the world (The Carter Center, 2021). They have now enlisted the help of their son, Chip Carter, to focus their efforts on their hometown of Plains, GA.
Founded in 2020, The Carter Plains Foundation is a 501c3 charity setup by Chip Carter, son of President and Mrs. Carter, to provide essential funding for services to underserved members of their hometown community in Plains GA.
The Carter Plains Foundation is currently in the process of rehabilitating 23 homes with the hope of identifying and rehabilitating more in the area. The Carter Plains Foundation Inc, is not only committed to renovating substandard housing, but also to providing services to help end the cycle of poverty such as opening a Head Start program, tutoring services, among others.
